The Graham Steers football team improved to 4-4 (2-1 district) on Friday when the team defeated Krum 42-7. Hunter Lanham threw for three touchdowns and Tre Alveraz ran for his first varsity touchdown in the win. The Steers can clinch a spot in the post season with a win over Aubrey on Nov. 1.

The Graham Steers snapped their four game losing streak when they defeated Bridgeport 49-14 on Oct.18. Daniel Gilbertson, who has been hampered with an ankle injury, ran for 247 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Corey Ballew had two interceptions, including a pick-six. The Steers (3-4) will travel to Krum on Oct. 26.

The Lady Blues volleyball team had issues when it comes to closing out matches this season. That was not the case on Oct. 11 when the Lady Blues defeated Iowa Park in straight sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-12. Throughout the match, the team played possibly the best defense the team has played all season, only giving up 11 points on kills in the entire match.
The Graham Steers football woes continued on Oct. 11 when the team traveled to Iowa Park to face the Hawks in the district opener. It would be understandable if the team was confident heading into the matchup.
The Steers went undefeated in the district last year and had not lost to the Hawks since 2005. That winning streak ended and the season losing streak extended to four games as the Steers fell to the Hawks, 34-9.
The Graham Steers were defeated 34-9 by the Iowa Park Hawks on Friday, Oct. 11. It was the Steers' first loss to the Hawks since 2005. The Steers dropped to 2-4 (0-1 district) on the season. The full story will be coming Monday.

It was not always as pretty as the match should have been; however, the Lady Blues walked away with a straight-set victory over Vernon 25-21, 25-16, 25-23 on Oct. 4.
The Lady Blues have a problem with playing down to their opponents this season. That was shown at times during the first road game in district play.
When Bryson traveled to Crowell on Oct. 4, the Cowboys knew it would not be an easy game. The Cowboys entered the game as 45 point underdogs and Wildcats were celebrating homecoming. However, the visiting Cowboys overcame their own mistakes to upset the Wildcats 54-48.
The Graham Steers fell to 2-3 on the season after losing to Springtown 44-7. After the open week, the Steers will begin disctrict play on Oct. 11 at Iowa Park. Last year, the Steers were 5-0 in district play.
Anyone expecting an easy game for homecoming will be disappointed when Springtown visits the Steers on Sept. 27. The defensive line will face a tough test as the Porcupines will be led by running back Cameron Rickett. The senior running back is only listed at 5-8, but weighs 205 pounds and will not be easy to take down. He can break free for big runs and has runs for 45 and 85 yards this season.
