A woman who has been assumed missing for one week was found deceased today, as the result of a vehicle wreck two miles north of Loving on Hwy. 16.

Dona Louise Chambers, 60, of Graham, was pronounced dead on the scene Saturday, Nov. 25, due to injuries sustained in the wreck.

A preliminary DPS investigation into the wreck revealed that a 2022 Buick Encore, driven by Chambers, was traveling north of Hwy. 16.

The vehicle left the roadway as it went around a curve and began driving into a ditch where it struck a sign and continued northwest into the ditch. The vehicle entered a tree line and rolled, resting on its right side.

Family and friends took to social media to gather information and raise awareness about her disappearance. According to posts by members of Chambers’ family, she had not been heard from since Saturday, Nov. 18.

The family has requested an autopsy of Chambers.

The Graham Leader will continue to follow this story as more information is made available.
