A two-vehicle wreck Saturday six miles east of Graham on U.S. Hwy. 380 resulted in the death of a Newcastle woman and two others being transported to Graham Regional Medical Center.

Kerri Forbus, 43, of Newcastle, was pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries sustained in the wreck Saturday, Oct. 7 near Centeridge Lane in Young County.

A Texas Department of Public Safety preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Forbus, was traveling west on U.S. Hwy. 380 while a 2011 Ford F150, driven by Marian Scott, 60, of Bacliff, was traveling east on the same highway.

Forbus failed to drive in a single lane, moved into oncoming traffic and struck the vehicle driven by Scott. According to the report, Forbus was not wearing a seatbelt when the wreck occurred.

Scott and her passenger Steven William, 69, of Decatur, were transported to GRMC. Scott had incapacitating injuries and William had non-incapacitating injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts when the wreck occurred.
