Douglas Wayne Lackey, 73, of The Colony passed away at home on the morning of Sept. 16, 2016. He was born in Archer County on Feb. 24, 1943, the son of Noah B. Lackey and Beatrice Sadler Lackey. He was reared in Loving and attended Graham schools. He married Dorothy Dewbre on June 15, 1963 in Loving, and they had four children. Doug was a general contractor most of his life and loved raising his cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Lackey. He is survived by his wife, of The Colony; sons, Lance Lackey of LaRue and Lincoln Lackey and wife, Sandy, of Rhome; daughters, Kelly Lackey of The Colony and Christy Lackey of Garland; siblings and spouses, Linda and David Wells of Abilene, Donna and Bill Rife of Fruitvale, Junior and Nita Lackey of Olney, Dorthy Lackey of Loving, Virginia Baker of Fort Worth, and Peggy and S.F. Damron of Loving; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
