Sandra Louise Cox, 74, passed away in Graham on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21 at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Sandra was born in Graham, on Oct. 11, 1947, to the late Alonzo Reed Carter and Virginia Dale Cearley Carter. Sandra was a devoted mother and grandmother, a pillar to her family and was the glue who held them together. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spent hours canning delicious jelly. She was always up for a trip to the casino or anything her grandkids needed; she would drop everything to help them. Sandra worked for Graham independent school district for 40-plus years and was dedicated to the kids at each school she worked for. She loved to attend the football games and always cheered them on! Sandra was greatly loved by students and faculty. She truly thought the world of her coworkers and enjoyed being with them each day. Sandra was one of the most beautiful women you could have ever met, and she will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known her. Her smile will never be forgotten and we can still hear her whistling from heaven.

She is survived by ex-husband Donald Cox, two sons: Donald Cox Jr. and Gary Cox; daughter Christine Cox and husband Jesse Martin, three sisters: Sharon Green, Lynn Kinsey, and Misty Smith and husband Jeff. Eight grandchildren also survive her: Jordan Dodson, Presley Cox, Chelsie Cox, Brazos Cox, Carley Pounds, and Jacob, Jordan, and Luke Nance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by two brothers: Robin and David Carter, and by a sister, Barbara Murrah.
