Lady Blues receive All-District honors
The volleyball season has ended, but the awards came in for a number of Lady Blues players for their performances both on the court and in the classroom this past season.
Leading the way for the Lady Blues was junior Braylee Mayes who was named Co-Utility Player of the Year for District 6-4A.
Graham had four players make all-district teams for their play on the court. Junior Lillian Noble and senior Olga Morales were named to 1st Team All-District while juniors Georgia Martin and Emilee Gordy were named 2nd Team All-District.
Junior Camden Thorne and sophomores Tara Dawson and Kaden Atwood were named as Honorable Mentions for their performances.
Off the court the Lady Blues found lots of success in the classroom, as well. Graham’s volleyball team had a handful of players named Academic All-District.
Kaden Atwood, Kinsley Amburn, Tara Dawson, Emilee Gordy, Harli Kenney, Georgia Martin, Braylee Mayes, Annemarie McHenry, Lillian Noble, Allie Posey, Kimber Pratt, Storee St Ama, Camden Thorne and Lexi Wolfe were all recognized as Academic All-District.
The Lady Blues finished the year with a 23-16 overall record with a 4-4 record in district to earn third place. Graham defeated Sweetwater to earn a bi-district championship before the season ended with a loss to Decatur.
