Arthur Lee “A.L.” Lewis

Arthur Lee “A.L.” Lewis, 90, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 in Graham. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 11, at 12 p.m. in Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Arthur was born May 26, 1930 in Murray to the late Nora Pearlee (Jones) and Sam Lewis. He married Faye Williams Jan. 13, 1981 in Palo Pinto County and she preceded him in death May 24, 2008. Arthur was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War and was the owner of PK Pest Control.

Melvin Wayne Phillips

Melvin Wayne Phillips passed away June 29, 2020 in Arlington. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Medlan Chapel Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Wayne was born June 15, 1953 in Graham and was a manager at Texas Almet in Arlington. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Velda Helen Bradshaw Clark

Velda Helen Bradshaw Clark passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 in Graham. She was 95 years old. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Oak Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Medlan Chapel Cemetery in Young County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Velda Helen was born in Graham, on March 2, 1925 to Clay Virgil and Inez Cherryhomes Bradshaw. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Gladys and George Jarrell. Velda had two brothers, Virgil Lee and Armon Bradshaw. She was baptized into the Tonk Valley Methodist Church in 1941.

Bobby Bailey

Bobby Bailey, age 86, died June 23, 2020 at his home in Newcastle. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the First United Methodist Church of Newcastle with Rev. Andy Tyler, officiating, assisted by Rev. Michael Cyr. Burial will follow at the Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

Elizabeth (King) Baker

Elizabeth (King) Baker passed away June 21, 2020 in Bedford, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth was born in Graham on Jan. 14, 1945 to Reagan Bentley King and Mildred Wynona (Chambers) King. She was a graduate of Graham High School.

Loreda Parsons Drum

Over the years our mother recorded stories about her and her family member’s lives. In 2014 she self-published her life story with the help of her cousin, Norma Sneed. Much of the following information is her own words.

Loreda Parsons Drum was born on April 13, 1921, the second of five children in a farm family. She came of age during the Great Depression and learned the lessons of family love and solidarity, hard work and faith. She was native Texan and, with the exception of a couple of years in Oklahoma, lived in Texas all of her life.

Archie Benge Freeman

Archie Benge Freeman passed away June 13, 2020 in Graham. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Medlan Chapel Cemetery near Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Archie was born Aug. 19, 1940 in Albany, and lived in Graham most of his life. He was a retired carpet layer, an avid fisherman and attended Faith Center Assembly of God.

Donald Eugene “Don” Forbes

Donald Eugene “Don” Forbes, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 11, 2020 in Graham. Family visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral was 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside was at 4 p.m. Monday at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Donna Marie Upton

Donna Marie Upton passed away June 13, 2020 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donna was born Jan. 8, 1960 in Weatherford and had lived in Graham for since 1984. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
