James Clifford Richards

James Clifford Richards passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at his home in Graham. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the First Baptist Church in Graham followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Pioneer Cemetery. Richards was born July 15, 1934 in Frankston, and moved to Graham from California in 2013. He was a retired flight tester with the Boeing Corporation.

Michael Henning Vogt

Michael Henning Vogt, 76, of Graham went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 in Decatur. Michael was born March 25, 1940 to Hans and Mary (Ryan) Vogt in Laramie, Wyoming. He was united in marriage to Alma Weigart on March 4, 1997 in Brighton, Colorado.

Betti Friedel Saunders

Betti Friedel Saunders, 92, departed for her next journey Sept. 19, 2016. She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Graham, the only child of Joe B. Friedel and Eunice Covey Friedel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Saunders, retired partner in the law firm of Fulbright and Jaworski. Her father was the son of Czech immigrants, and her mother was born and raised in Fort Worth.

William ‘Bill’ Golden

William "Bill" Golden, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 in Graham. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. in Oak Street Baptist Church. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Bill was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Electra, to the late Reeves Black and Etta Dell (Walkup) Golden. He graduated from Electra High School and married Marsha Brown on Aug. 23, 1957 in Electra.

Richard Warren Brannies

Richard Warren Brannies, 61, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 in Graham. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. in the VFW Post 8567. Richard was born June 25, 1955 in Fort Worth, to Warren Sherril and Mattie Jean (Roberts) Brannies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Desert Storm. Richard worked for The Washhouse and was a member of the VFW Post 8567. Survivors include his daughter, Janice D. Abraham of Savannah, Ga.; sons, Richard Warren Brannies II of Brunswick, Ga.

Shirley Louise Niday Irvin

Shirley Louise Irvin, 81, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 in Graham. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Shirley was born April 17, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late David Allen and Marian P. (Conway) Niday. She married Claude Irvin on May 28, 1954 at her home in Sterling, Kan., and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2015. They had two sons there before moving to Texas in 1958 and finally settling in Graham.

Charles Edward Barron Sr.

Charles Edward Barron Sr., 82, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Charlie was born Feb. 27, 1934 in Olney, to the late O.B. and Loraine (Holder) Barron. He graduated from Graham High School and Texas Tech University with a master’s degree in education. Charlie married Elva Lois Underwood in June 1980 in Seymour.

Douglas Wayne Lackey

Douglas Wayne Lackey, 73, of The Colony passed away at home on the morning of Sept. 16, 2016. He was born in Archer County on Feb. 24, 1943, the son of Noah B. Lackey and Beatrice Sadler Lackey. He was reared in Loving and attended Graham schools. He married Dorothy Dewbre on June 15, 1963 in Loving, and they had four children. Doug was a general contractor most of his life and loved raising his cattle.

Sharon A. Huffman

Sharon A. Huffman, 62, passed away at her home Monday, Sept. 19, 2016.  A graveside funeral was held Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Sharon was born Oct. 19, 1953 in Jack County, to the late Heston B.
