DSHS distributes vaccines for twelfth week to providers

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship 676,280 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 522 providers during the twelfth  week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Aside from large vaccine hubs, additional vaccines are still being distributed to smaller providers in other parts of the state including Young County for a fourth week in a row.

DSHS distributes vaccines for ninth week to providers

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship 401,750 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 358 providers during the ninth week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Aside from large vaccine hubs, additional vaccines are still being distributed to smaller providers in other parts of the state including Young County.

Fourth week vaccine distribution to hit Young County

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship COVID-19 vaccines to more than 949 providers in 158 Texas counties during the fourth week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Adjoining counties received their first doses during the previous allocation and Young County was set to receive more doses during the fourth week allocation.

Area entities to receive first doses of COVID-19 vaccine

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship COVID-19 vaccines to more than 350 providers in 94 Texas counties during the third week of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. While Young County will not be receiving vaccine during this allotment, adjoining counties will be receiving their first doses.

Young County set to receive Moderna vaccine doses

The Texas Department of State Health Services tasked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship COVID-19 vaccines to more than 1,100 providers in 185 Texas counties this week, with 700 Moderna vaccines being scheduled for Young County clinics.

According to the vaccine allocation list for week two of the allocation process for the COVID-19 vaccine, Dr. Jared Mataska at Graham Medical Associates and the Lovett-Meredith Rural Health Clinic/Olney Family Clinic were scheduled to receive vaccines.

DSHS adds school district reported COVID-19 cases to public website

In collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) last week posted on the DSHS website the statewide number of cases of COVID-19 reported by Texas public schools. The reported count of on-campus student cases of COVID-19 in the state’s public schools is 2,344 out of an estimated 1.1 million students who have been on campus for instruction or activities since the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. The total count of on-campus staff cases during the same period is 2,175.

Federal unemployment payments ending July 25

This week marks the final week of the federal $600 unemployment benefits from the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program and the CARES Act. Based on the Texas Workforce Commission’s contract with the US Department of Labor, FPUC is available for the week ending April 04, 2020, through the week ending July 25, 2020.

TWC was responsible for overseeing payments. Only Congress can extend or make changes. The July 25 deadline was set by federal law and is out of the jurisdiction of TWC.
